What started as a hobby crafting my own moisturizer has become a passion. After working for a physician in a med-spa, I was inspired to tackle my own battle with dry skin and the frustrating buildup of dead skin cells. I tried countless name-brand products that offered temporary relief but ultimately left my skin feeling dry and dull. Then, I began creating my own exfoliating oil cleanser and turmeric bar soap. Incorporating my homemade moisturizer was truly a game changer. Friends who tried my creations loved them, and it wasn't long before I was encouraged to turn this passion into a business.

 

As I embarked on this venture, I was determined to create something beneficial for our skin—something that truly works. I delved into the ingredients commonly used in skincare. I have always believed that nature provides us with everything we need. Unfortunately, big companies often take these natural ingredients, strip them down, and add unnecessary synthetic chemicals for longer shelf life and greater profits, often disregarding the side effects these have on our skin.

 

Our skin is our largest organ, absorbing what we apply to it. Therefore, I researched the ingredients prevalent in popular skincare brands. For example, Polyethylene Glycol (PEG), a thickening agent, may irritate the skin and compromise the skin barrier. Preservatives like DMDM Hydantoin and Quaternium-15 release formaldehyde and can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions. While silicones, like dimethicone, create a luxurious texture, they can trap dirt and oil, leading to breakouts and dull skin over time. Petrolatum may lock in moisture, but it can also congest pores and irritate the skin.

 

After more than a year of perfecting my formula, I made my own tallow to ensure high quality and proper filtration. I carefully selected plant-based oils that complement each other for optimal skin health. While many tallow balms and lotions exist, I wanted to offer something unique by incorporating essential oils like helichrysum, carrot seed, and pomegranate. These oils not only boast rich antioxidants but also promote cell regeneration, balance oil production, combat free radicals for anti-aging effects, and enhance skin tone and texture. Combined with tallow and coconut oil, these ingredients provide deep hydration, resulting in the youthful glow you’ve been missing.
